Health Advice: "Take responsibility for your health, and you will be astounded by the benefits. Stop smoking; eat more fruits, vegetables, and whole grains; exercise daily; and, drink plenty of water. "Life is not a dress rehearsal! Simple measures can make a huge difference in disease prevention."
Why she recommends Juice Plus+: "Last year alone, I consulted with over 400 new patients diagnosed with cancer. The sad truth is that many of these cases might have been prevented through sound nutrition, stress reduction, and an overall healthy lifestyle. "As a busy professional and mother of three, I realize how difficult it is to eat the way we should, especially day in and day out. Juice Plus+ is the perfect way to ensure that we get more of the good, whole food based nutrition we really need."
Juice Plus+ is the simple, convenient, and inexpensive way to add more nutrition from fruits and vegetables to your diet, every day.
Tony and I have been taking Juice Plus+ daily for almost 5 years and we feel fabulous, and are more healthy. I have Fibromyalgia Syndrome (an inflammation of the nervous system that causes painful muscle spasms and chronic fatigue), and Juice Plus+ reduced my pain level by 90% and doubled my energy level. (Results may vary.)
Juice Plus+ is whole food nutrition and will not interfere with any biomedical treatment that you may be doing with your child, but will actually enhance it. Poor nutrition has been linked to ADHD in numerous studies.

People who "advertise" through this newsletter have never been checked out by me. This includes professionals and even people who are interested in babysitting, etc.
Please take the time to thoroughly check out anyone and everyone that will be working with or caring for your child. We are all sadly aware, through news stories and word of mouth, of people who pray upon special needs children because of their extra vulnerability.

'Sarcasm' brain areas discovered

|
Scientists say they have located the parts of the brain that comprehend sarcasm - honestly.
By comparing healthy people and those with damage to different parts of the brain, they found the front of the brain was key to understanding sarcasm.
Damage to any of three different areas could render individuals unable to understand sarcastic comments.

FREE Seminar
"Returning to Health"
Speaker: Humbart "Smokey" Santillo, N.D.
Developer of the Juice Plus+ Concept
Thursday, June 26, 2008, at 7:00pm
Holiday Inn - Stadium/Mission Valley
Main Ballroom
3805 Murphy Canyon Rd.
San Diego 92123 (I-15 and Aero Dr.)
As a young man overwhelmed by a variety of health problems, Dr. Santillo began to search for a new way to better health. He found the answers he was looking for in his diet - specifically in the nutritional goodness of fruits and vegetables.
Since that nutritional awakening, Dr. Santillo has spent a lifetime sharing his knowledge with others, first as a lecturer for "The Juice Man", then as the man behind a revolutionary idea: to take juicing fruits and vegetable one step further by reducing the juices to highly concentrated powdered form. Along the way he secured a degree as a Doctor of Naturopathy, earned the designation of Master Herbalist, and authored three best books.
Join me as one of North America's leading naturopaths tells us about "The Power of Fruits & Vegetables" and explains how Juice Plus+ works.
To reserve your seat, please contact Valerie Saraf by June 18th.

Executive function (EF) is a broad term that refers to a related set of skills necessary to achieve goals. They develop throughout adolescence and into early adulthood, and play a crucial role in helping a child manage increased academic demands, especially during school transitions.

Mom moving to San Diego need info on schools
|
|
My family is relocating to the San Diego area, and I am in need of some information. I have a son that has been diagnosed through the public school system as having autistic behaviors. It was suggested that he probably has Aspergers. He is in regular first grade classes (soon to start second grade) and attending social classes with the school's language specialist and is supposed to start after school social classes. Acedemically, he is performing well above his grade level and just keeps exceeding expectations. His teacher has suggested that he is a great candidate for GATE. However, I am not sure if that is where he should be. I think that maybe he should spend more time working on his social skills rather than on furthering his acedemics.
We need to find a good school for him, where his needs will be met. He is a perfectionist and anxious about new situations. He will need a lot of understanding. I thought that you may be able to help me sort out which school districts would be better for him. I also have two other sons, one to start first grade and another that is two years old. They are showing no signs of needing special education. We have looked into housing in different areas and find that with what we can afford Encinitas and Carlsbad look like good candidates. We want to be closer to the coast but if inland communities are better for our kids education then we are willing to move inland. Oceanside seemed a bit far as my husband will be working in Sorrento Valley.
Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Deanne Cook

New parent needs help
|
|
Hi.
My name is Bo kyum Yang. I have one son. he is three. and he is suspected autistic spectrum disorder. He is not diagnosed at children's hospital yet, but he might have it. Two weeks ago he had IEP meeting, results said he has autistic like behavior.
these days I am so tired and sometimes I don't know where I have to start from.
There are lots of information on internet, but I am not sure it fits to my son's symptom and what I can choose.
My question is
Is there any service for autism in San diego?, (he is not eligeble to service from regional center) Is there any parent meeting in San diego?. or play group.
Do you know private speech therapist?
I hope I can get reply soon.
I am so desperate.
Thank you.

Hi Valerie,
Could you please post: Has anyone heard of Lindmood Bell Visualizing and Verbalizing? Have you had success and where were you able to get materials? We understand training is easy, but it cost about $60 an hour for tutoring and it can get very expensive.
