Juice Plus+®

Juice Plus+ is the simple, convenient, and inexpensive way to add more nutrition from fruits and vegetables to your diet, every day.

Tony and I have been taking Juice Plus+ daily for almost 5 years and we feel fabulous, and are more healthy.

Juice Plus+ will not interfere with any biomedical treatment that you may be doing with your child, but will actually enhance it.

If you would like more info about Juice Plus+, please email me.

If you would like to order Juice Plus+, click here.

More and more men and women realize that "an ounce of prevention" really is worth more than "a pound of cure."

I never endorse anyone or anything. Opinions expressed in what I send out, may not be shared by me. Everything is for informational purposes only.

People who "advertise" through this newsletter have never been checked out by me. This includes professionals and even people who are interested in babysitting, etc.

Please take the time to thoroughly check out anyone and everyone that will be working with or caring for your child. We are all sadly aware, through news stories and word of mouth, of people who pray upon special needs children because of their extra vulnerability.

Thank you,
Valerie Dodd-Saraf

  • Clinical Trials
  • There are occasions when we may want to explore more cutting edge items for our child or learn if a particular medication or diagnosis is being studied. Something that may be of interest is the Clinical Trials website, where you can do searches on clinical trials currently underway.

    http://www.clinicaltrials.gov/

ClinicalTrials.gov is a registry of federally and privately supported clinical trials conducted in the United States and around the world. ClinicalTrials.gov gives you information about a trial's purpose, who may participate, locations, and phone numbers for more details. This information should be used in conjunction with advice from health care professionals.

Toxins, Multiple-Infections and Autism: Minimizing Triggers of Regression

This presentation will cover the many infections and environmental toxins which are either the cause or trigger for autistic symptoms. Strategies for minimizing triggers of regression will also be discussed with practical resources and treatment information.

Tami Duncan is the Executive Director and Co- Founder of the LIA Foundation (Lyme Induced Autism Foundation) located in Corona, CA. The foundation focuses on education, awareness and research into the connection between Lyme disease and autism. She co-founded this organization after herself and her son with autism was diagnosed with Lyme disease. She wanted a place where parents could go to learn from doctors about the many treatment options available and educate parents on the other infections which may be hampering improvement in their autistic children. She is the host of an online radio show called "The Lyme-Autism Connection" on Autism One Radio. She is the author of several articles and editorials published in Lyme Times, Public Health Alert and Townsend Letter. Tami is also the meeting co-coordinator for the Inland Empire Chapter of TACA (Talk About Curing Autism). She is the marketing director for West Coast Fund Raising and finally, she is most recently the Girl Scout troop leader for her daughters Daisy troop. • Genetic links to impaired social behavior in autism
  • Philadelphia, PA, May 13, 2008 - Individuals with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) show profound deficits in social interactions and communications, and display repetitive behaviors and abnormal responses to sensory experiences. One aspect of an autistic child's impaired social abilities is their lack of affiliative behaviors, i.e., behaviors such as touching and hugging that strengthen social bonds. On May 15th, Biological Psychiatry is publishing an article that reports new findings on genetic bases of these behaviors.

A Tribute to Mothers and Grandmothers
We are excited to invite moms, grandmas and everyone who appreciates them to share their stories. If you are a mom with an amusing, touching or inspirational anecdote related to life with a child with autism, or if you would like to recognize a special mother or grandmother of a person with autism, this is your chance. Anyone who wishes to speak will be welcomed, followed by informal networking, as time allows.

There will be a gift for all the mothers and grandmothers, and each will be entered to win one of several lovely door prizes. Dessert with coffee and tea will be served.

Don't miss this opportunity to share some inspiration and frustrations, and to get to know each other better. This is a place where you know there will be someone who really understands what it means to be a mother of an ASD child!

    "Same Story, Different Ending"

A 25 minute video documentation of seven families and their journey toward change and renewed hope

A group discussion will follow this video presentation, facilitated by Felicia R. Solito, Esq., and parent

"The parents are the true heroes in this story. They are such an inspiration, and while the kids were the ones who were transformed, the tears in my eyes the whole video were for the white-knuckled guts and bravery and perseverance of the parents. I am always grateful when I learn something new, or see a glimpse through a window I never even knew existed in the world."--Teacher

"The whole experience has elevated my mundane week and really brought it to such a higher level in terms of possibility and hope and courage and faith."-- Teacher

"The video proved the therapists and doctors were wrong. Every kid looked like they could change the world."--11-year-old child
